MyBlogLog Communities Announcement

To paraphrase Michael Arrington, "I'm a jerk, and other breaking news."  The MyBlogLog team busts their butts for nearly a month, building MyBlogLog's new Communities section, and I don't even bother to post about it.  So here goes, better late than never:

I'm pleased to tell you about MyBlogLog's new Communities service, which is now in limited beta.  Part blog aggregator, part social network, MyBlogLog Communities is the absolute best way to become more intimate with the authors and readers of your favorite sites and find new blogs and sites that you'll dig.

MyBlogLog Communities enables you to join a like-minded group of readers at your favorite site and get to know them better.  After all, you're fans of the same content, you probably have plenty else in common -- too bad that blogs tend to be crummy communities and don't help you get to know the other readers.  Right now you can trade messages with other readers and see what other sites they've joined and we're going to add great new feature in the coming weeks.

At the same time, as you visit other sites on the network, we'll automatically add you to your favorite communities based upon your usage.  This requires no work on your part -- just surf as you always do and when it becomes obvious that you're a fan, we'll ad you to the community.  As always, MyBlogLog is all about making things easier for you.

However, if you want to join a web site or blog's community immediately, you can search for it in our simple site search and join it with the click of a mouse.  Further, look for MyBlogLog Reader Rolls (that's one over there on the right) on your favorite sites.  You can immediately join a community by clicking the appropriate link at the bottom of the list.  You can find Reader Rolls on John August's The DJ List, Brad Feld's Feld Thoughts,Josh Kopelman's Redeye VC, Ian Bogost's Water Cooler Games,  Ted Rheingold's Spidey Senses and Dan Rua's Florida Venture Blog.  If you enjoy these sites, sign up for their communities, upload a picture and then visit often to share the love with other readers.
