Working out some kinks

We're working out post-integration kinks and the site is running w-a-a-a-a-y slow. Rest assured, no data is  being dropped and the Recent Reader widget is running just fine. We're just having some issues with a squirrelly database.

The team has been on it since last night and I'll continue to post updates here on progress.

UPDATE: We've got a temporary fix in place so the site is running normally. We are continuing to work behind the scenes to get this resolved permanently. Shiny new servers need to some additional spit and polish.

UPDATE: We're back in business. Anyone having some problems logging into their accounts or any other UI shenanigans that has not contacted customer service, please do so we can be sure we've taken care of everyone.

Now if I had read this yesterday I wouldn't have been so frustrated ;)...Got you in my Google Reader now!

Nice to know you're working
on it!

You have squirrels running your servers? I'd say that's part of the problem.

Sounds great, Keep up thegreat jobs guys!

I checked the site out a few weeks ago and recall being able to browse through all communities. Now that I signed up, that feature is nowhere to be found. I don't want just the top communities or newest, I just want to browse them all. Please bring that back. Thanks.

good to know that things are coming along.

@Kirsten - we moved to a tag & search based community structure because we had just too many communities to browse through. It takes getting used to but I'm sure you'll find that using the search box to find what you need is ultimately more efficient.

It's kind of like when Yahoo replaced directory.yahoo.com with search.yahoo.com. At scale, search works better.

Are there any developer docs about where to extract MyBlogLog avatars for particular URLs. I wrote a Movable Type plug-in that displays MyBlogLog avatars next to comments and now everyone who has a Yahoo avatar gets a missing image, but it still works for everyone who hasn't updated their avatar. Or can you point me in the right direction for the URL formation? Thanks

I logged in today and merged without a hitch, but.. there's a bug of sorts.

I backed up my mbl pic last week in anticipation of the big switch, but upon uploading the same 48x48 pic this time, it was 'stretched' about 7 times on the new pic upload wizard then shrunk back, resulting in a fuzzy, much lower res pic. Is there a way to upload using the same old mbl pic uploader?

Rob, email me at robyn@sleepyblogger.com

Sherry, no, I also have noticed that my image is grainy, but you can't get past that Yahoo upload. Sorry about that.

Yup, its felt like an internet year has passed and I still am unable to log in, my email address in unrecogonized and I think my avatar is missing.

anyone? anyone?

Geology Joe, we are aware of the particularly unique situation with your ID. I'll have Robyn follow up with you directly.

Rock on Ian.

Ian --

I have noticed I can't "hide" specific folks from my visitors on my Recent Readers widget any more since the transition. What's infuriating about this is that I have emailed customer service no less than three times about the issue. The first answer was a "thank you" with absolutely no other information, and the other two have not been responded to. I started this on the 25th. Is there going to be a solution there? The only way I can take someone off the widget now is to take off the widget, and if I'm going to that I might as well cancel the account.

A solution to this would be appreciated, because I do actually like this service otherwise.

Daniel

Mybloglog keeps logging me out everytime I join a community. Is this happening to anyone else?

Am I right in assuming that there are still problems?

I managed to sign up for an account on Friday, start things rolling and since then, I've not been able to log in again.

All I get is Server Error (11128). blah blah blah when entering my correct yahoo user and pass.

I can see who's visited my site and they can see me but I can't build on my relationships yet :(

Gissa clue :)

Kev

Daniel, please let us know your browser and OS. I confirmed that the removal feature works.

Kevin, could you also let us know more details? Even better, a screenshot showing which screen is giving you this error would help us recreate this.

Please send emails to customerservice@mybloglog.com

Ian --

Sent the info. It's Mac OS 10.3.9 and Firefox 2.0.0.7 and Safari 1.3.2. Cleared cookies, all that. Same results.

Thanks,

Daniel

Ian, likewise, have sent all details with screenshots and notes.

Have tried on two different computers and four browsers - still can't log in.

I'm thinking it's a validation issue, Where I changed my handle for MBL because I hadn't verified my yahoo acct at that time the systems haven't talked to one another??

Kev

@ Daniel - make sure that you are logged into mybloglog in order to activate the blocking feature.

@ Kev - I just sent you an email. I think we resolved your issue. Thank you for the screenshot, it helped us quite a bit.

Whoops I realize I made that last comment potentially under the wrong name ... anyway, any help you could give with getting me into my account would be appreciated!

@Kohlstek - please open up a request at

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mybloglog/general.html

to get things sorted out. The folks there can help you not only with access to mybloglog.com but also your Yahoo ID.

My recent readers list has all disappeared. I am not sure why. It was working find last week. Can anybody help?

LamSeng, I just visited your site and I see my face right there in your side bar. Looks like it's working fine.
