Why Verify?
You'll start seeing this little checkmark on community sites. It's an icon, a "seal of approval" that basically tells you that the owner of the site has spent a few minutes proving to MyBlogLog that they have write access to the blog featured on the community page.
Why did we do this? The interwebs is a dynamic place. People come and go. Sites change ownership, domains change. We wanted to give people an indicator that the page that they are looking at has a relationship with the website it features and has been "blessed" by its owner.
That's not to say we discourage fan sites. It's cool when people do that, we just wanted to create something special for those that have ownership and give those members a way to indicate that.
Currently this is nothing more than a visual indicator. For details on how it works, check this page for more info. In the future, we'll use the verified flag to indicate a higher level of "truthiness" and will use it help us better promote that site.
So what are you waiting for? Visit your site's community page and click on the "Verify my site" in the Author's section and testify!

Hmmmmm...
I am going to verify my websites, but I'm waiting for you 'to give me more power' when I finish the job. ;)

Your instructions left me confused. (If I'm confused, I have to hope there are others. Lest I am the dumbest of the dumb!) Some screen shots of where you're referring would be helpful.

This is a great idea.

That is an intelligent move.
To be honest I once thought of starting a community of Google blog.

I for one think this was an excellent move on MBL's part. Thank you very much.

Authentication doesn't work for me. I tried the Meta tag as well as a blog post, but the tag/link were not found.
I was capable of adding any code to my blog but somehow this doesn't work for me. Any idea?

Hi Carsten,
I just did a 'view source' on www.notsorelevant.com and can't find your MBL verification code anywhere. Are you sure you re-published the site files?

I don't like having random code in my blog, so I won't verify, but is the reason that I can no longer view my communities? I can only view the first page these days unless I am not signed in.

@cooper - the verification code needs to only be there until you've verified your site, you can then remove it.
Strange about your not being able to view more than your first page of communities. The navigation is there and no one else has reported any issues. If it continues to be a problem, please let customer care know.
