Report spam link now blocks it too

Wallofspam by chodta Is someone a little over-enthusiastic about their product or website? Are their eager messages to you of little value or irrelevant? We have a report spam link next to each message but it leads to a form and, well, no one likes to fill out forms.

Starting today, the report spam link will go directly to a screen to block that message and future messages from that user. You can always go back to your hide/block tab in your profile and lift the block if you want to but the power is in your hands.

If this works, we're thinking of lifting the 20 messages/day limit for contact-to-contact messages. When you leave a message for someone that is your contact, we will not deduct from the daily limit. No need to tax you for chatting up your friends.

Let us know what you think in the comments below and, please, no spam!

I think is a good feature for Hot Communities... In fact, I didn't received so many spams :op

Another spam problem (which seem probably fixed) : bots which visit our communities to display their avatars on our widget... Long time I didn't see unliked reader avatar :o)

Good work !

fine with me

I would really enjoy being able to send messages to my contacts. Most of the time I use mine up sending back and forth then I have to wait until the day rolls over to continue. It is all fine and dandy that you think enough of your group that you want to advertise it but a lot of us here chose the groups we like regardless of how much others promote their sites. Thank you for taking this into consideration and I really hope we can get more messages. I am a chatter to say the least. Take care and have a nice evening.

It would be great to block "spam" messages. And I love the part about having unlimited messages to your contacts! I usually run out of messages, especially to my friends!
